Dan Hartenstein

Co-Founder, ECS Wealth Strategies

Charter Instructor, Government Employee Benefit Institute

A Legacy of Financial Strategy

Dan followed in his father’s footsteps, beginning his career in 1999 by serving high-income health professionals. His early focus was on retirement plan design, tax planning, asset protection, and charitable giving helping clients preserve more of what they earned and build lasting wealth.

A Shift Toward Service

In 2009, Dan noticed a trend: doctors and dentists from federal medical centers like Tripler Army, the VA, and Navy Medical Services were struggling with their benefits. Complex systems and widespread misinformation made retirement planning even more challenging for federal employees. Dan committed to helping them, becoming a Notary Public and diving into specialized training to master federal benefit systems.

Building GEBI and a Better Future

In 2010, Dan co-founded the Government Employee Benefit Institute (GEBI) to help federal workers navigate retirement with clarity. Over the next nine years, he and his team educated and guided over 1,000 federal employees. GEBI became a preferred vendor for the Honolulu Pacific Federal Executive Board and received the BBB’s prestigious Torch Award for Ethics in 2016.

Community Roots and Leadership

Born and raised in Oahu, Dan graduated from Punahou School and earned honors at Webster University’s Dutch campus in Leiden, studying International Business and Relations. He’s been active in his community through Rotary Club recognition, board memberships, and school volunteering. He’s also helped lead charitable efforts including endowments for healthcare foundations and environmental restoration.

Robert Yeszerski

Co-Founder, ECS Wealth Strategies
Charter Instructor, Government Employee Benefit Institute

A Career Built on Education

Since 2002, Robert has worked with individuals and small businesses on retirement planning, insurance strategies, estate planning, and college funding. As an instructor with GEBI, he has delivered retirement education to thousands of government employees, empowering them to make smarter choices about their future. His work has been recognized with the Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Ethics, an honor awarded to GEBI in 2016 for its outstanding integrity and commitment to doing what’s right.

From Combat Boots to Financial Planning

Robert brings a unique blend of discipline and strategy from his time in the U.S. Army. Enlisting at just 16½, he served six years as a Cavalry Scout, including deployment in Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Provide Comfort. After his service, he studied at the University of Würzburg and Webster University in Holland, where he focused on Marketing Management.

An International Business Mindset

Before co-founding ECS, Robert led marketing and sales across Europe and the Middle East for a multinational corporation. He managed teams in Germany, Switzerland, Russia, and beyond building cross-cultural insight that still influences how he works with clients today.

A Family-First Philosophy

Robert lives in Hawaii with his wife, Uri, and their two children, Zoe and Jaden. Family is at the heart of everything he does whether it’s supporting his daughter as she prepares for college or admiring his toddler son’s creativity as he builds incredible things with whatever materials he can find. Uri and Robert place great emphasis on their children’s education, and Robert enjoys spending quality time with his family.

Although Robert speaks English, German, and Swedish fluently, he humorously notes that these language skills aren’t as useful in Hawaii.
